Alleged Drunk Driver Crashes into Cop Cars at Police Station

Police arrested Terrence Lamar Young, 43, of Atlanta, Texas for DWI after he crashed into two police vehicles at the Atlanta Texas Police Department. Mr. Young had a child passenger in the vehicle with him at the time of the crash. Neither Mr. Young nor his child passenger was injured as a result of the crash.

On Sunday, January 05, 2020, at approximately 02:20 AM, two Atlanta Police Department patrol units were damaged as a result of a motor vehicle crash while they were parked at the Atlanta Police Department. Both patrol units were struck by a pickup truck driven by Terrence Lamar Young, 43, of Atlanta. Mr. Young had a child passenger in the vehicle with him at the time of the crash. Neither Mr. Young nor his child passenger was injured as a result of the crash.

An investigation into the crash determined that Mr. Young was intoxicated at the time he was driving the vehicle and crashed into the parked patrol unit. Mr. Young was subsequently arrested for Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Passenger, a State Jail Felony in the State of Texas. Mr. Young was subsequently transported to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office – Jail Division for housing. Mr. Young’s bond was set at $20,000. There are additional criminal charges pending against Mr. Young.

The two patrol units were damaged to the point that they are not operational with one believed to be repairable and the other one believed to be a total loss.
