ARDOT Raising Speed Limit on Highways and Interstates

That’s right we could soon hit the roads and go a little faster in Arkansas. The Arkansas Department of Transportation is proposing to raise the speed limit on interstates and highways.

The speed limits on State highways will go up five miles per hour. Outside of city limits, the interstates in the state of Arkansas will increase to 75mph, inside the city will be 65 MPH.

If the commission adopts the study’s recommendations at Wednesday’s meeting, then the new speed limits will be in effect on or after July 1.

Expect to see these changes in the next couple of months allowing time for the speed limit signs to be changed.
