Congratulations to Jada Catherine TAPD P.R.I.D.E graduate for her outstanding efforts and being chosen to be the Class of 2020 Arkansas High School Valedictorian. We surprised Jada with a parade celebrating her accomplishments.
Texarkana Arkansas Police Department hosts a 5-day camp for about 100 students entering 6th grade. The goal is to assist and guide the students to make positive life choices. The P.R.I.D.E. Academy partners police officers as a type of coach with the students. These students learn about ways to cope with challenging situations, improve self-esteem, and ways to manage anger. The students are taught the importance of serving their community through volunteering. Sadly this year this program was suspended for 2020 due to COVID-19.
