Today we were lucky enough to have Casey Nichols, Superintendent for Ashdown Public School, to help provide insight regarding the 2020-2021 academic year. So much good news…Let’s start with school starts on August 24th!

“We Are…” READY FOR LEARNING Options and Process: 2020-2021Below are two learning options for your student’s education this fall. Please note that there are steps that parents must take, for either option. Each process requires you to register/enroll your child. Please read each process thoroughly, determine the best option for your child, and follow the appropriate procedure below. Link to 2020-2021 Academic Plan
OPTION 1 On-Site Learning:
Step 1
Register your child at their campus, from 8:30 am-3:30 pm, on August 3- 6.
• Ashdown Elementary School: grades K-5
• Ashdown Junior High: grades 6-8
• Ashdown High School: grades 9-12
Step 2
Attend Meet the Teacher, from 2 pm-6 pm on August 18-20 (as scheduled by campus)
• You may choose to meet virtually with your child’s teacher by appointment
Attend Meet the Teacher, from 2 pm-6 pm on August 18-20 (as scheduled by campus)
• If you cannot attend at the designated time, you may meet virtually with your child’s teacher by appointment
Step 3
Student attends school on-site, on
OPTION 2 Off-Site “Blended” Learning:
Step 1

Student attends school on-site, on August 24, 2020
Contact your student’s campus, by August 11, 2020, to inform them that your child will participate in off-site “blended” learning. The campus will then schedule a time for you to pick up your child’s assigned electronic device, and discuss expectations for off-site “blended” learners. (If you choose for your student to participate in off-site “blended” learning, we strongly encourage that you commit to a minimum of 4 weeks, and have reliable internet access.)

Step 5
Students will start off-site “blended” learning, on August 24, 2020.
(Off-site students will be expected to complete their assignments in the same timeframe as on-site students. Failure to do so will negatively impact the student’s grade, and the child’s attendance.)
