Baller on a Budget Meals

Have you ever been broke and hungry? I know I have. When times get hard, it is even harder to go to your pantry and/or fridge and hunt for food. I don’t know about you, but there are only so many ways that you can make a sandwich, and cereal every day gets old. Here is a list of foods that can be transformed to bring variety to your hungry belly when your pockets are empty.

Beans and Rice: You know that can of beans you have in the back of your pantry? You never use it, but I bet it is still good! Try cooking them and serve over a bed of rice.

Chicken/Tuna Salad: Canned meat (like chicken or tuna) Mayo and pickle relish. Makes for a cheap meal on crackers or by itself.

Smoothie: Got fruit? Blend it together. Add a dollop of peanut butter for protein and a nutty flavor!

Pasta Puttanesca: The father of kitchen sink meals: This is just whatever pasta you can find. Then add a little bit of everything. Capers, garlic, olives, anchovies, and tomatoes. It the things you usually have in your pantry that hardly ever get used.

Chili Cheese Dogs: All you need for this one is a slice of bread, slice of cheese, a hot dog wiener, and chili. Easy, simple, and delicious.

Ramen: From Pho to lo mein, you can never go wrong with ramen. There are countless ways to make ramen. I like to make it soupy and add veggies and a soft-boiled egg to make it like a Pho dish! Bonus points for me.

So there you have it. If you are a baller on a budget, try these easy and dirt cheap meals. What is your go-to meal when you are broke?
