First Case of COVID- 19 Confirmed in Little River County

Today we have just learned that Little River County how has a confirmed positive case of COVID-19. With more testing, we will see more positive test results, which is what we need. As a community, we need to be aware and continue to practice social distancing and of course proper hygiene.

First Case of COVID- 19 Confirmed in Little River County

May 17, 2020 – Ashdown, Arkansas

Sunday morning May 17th, Arkansas Department of Health officials contacted County Judge Mike Cranford confirming the first positive case of COVID-19 in Little River County. The positive case is listed in Foreman.

Arkansas Department of Health Officials will be conducting a Contacts Investigation which will include interviewing persons who may have been exposed by this individual.

The Little River County Courthouse will continue to be open to the public pursuant to the guidelines set forth in Executive Order 2020-2. Citizens that are needing to conduct business are strongly encouraged to make every effort to conduct their business with offices via telephone, email, or fax.

Citizens are strongly advised to continue to follow CDC and Arkansas Department of Health Guidelines; Stay at home as much as possible, practice safe social distancing, wear protective face covering, wash your hands regularly, and keep all surface areas sanitized.

Anyone who has knowingly or suspects they have been in contact with someone who is positive for COVID-19 or exhibits any symptoms such as fever, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, coughing, or other flu like symptoms is encouraged to contact your primary care physician to be tested immediately.
