No, I did not actually hit a puppy. But the other day after leaving work I saw a small white puppy run across Summerhill Road at I-30 as I was getting gas. Not once…but 2 times! I was amazed the little dog did not get hit. He was hard to see and was moving erratically.
I first thought he was trying to get across the busy road to go home. But when he reversed and came back over the same busy area I figured he must be lost. I stopped my car off the road and tried to call the puppy to come to me. But that only seemed to scare him more.
He ran off toward the Sonic on Summerhill. I tried to find him but never saw him again. I hope he found his way home. Or that someone had more luck than me catching him and will give him a good home. But in case he’s a stray and still roaming the I-30 Summerhill Rd area…please drive carefully and watch out for him. He was white with some tan or brown on his head and looked to have a little Chihuahua mix in him. I saw no collar either.
