My son saw the new Midway movie in the theater and told me it was great. So when it came out where I could rent the Blu-ray, I jumped on it. I watched it Friday night. And I agree it’s a Great Movie. The extra features on the DVD make it even better.
It’s amazing how they made the movie. It’s also amazing how the script stays true to the real history of the battle and the events leading up to it. Both the American and Japanese viewpoint is presented in a fair way I think. It’s quite an eye-opener into the background of Pearl Harbor and the days that followed. And how a small number of Americans were able to do the impossible. This is the Real Top Gun with Propeller planes.
If you have seen any of the old movies about Midway this one is so much better in so many ways. If you are a history buff or just want to learn the true story about Midway…you need to see this movie asap.
I think the younger generation needs to see this also. I don’t think they even teach about the Battle of Midway in public schools anymore. Do they? If you are a teacher and know the answer please let me know. If you love Action…that looks REAL with great acting and a story you could not make up…then MIDWAY needs to be on your Must-Watch List.
