Time to Reach Out

Maybe you have some extra time on your hands these days. What are you going to do since many things you want to do you cannot do? Well, I have a suggestion. Reach out to your old friends, old classmates, people you have lost touch with over the years.

The other day I sent an email to my oldest childhood friend. I was not even sure about his email. But I got lucky and found an email that is still working. I just wanted to reach out and touch base with him. I told him I was ok and not sick. I’m glad I emailed him because I found out that he had been sick a while back. But thankfully he’s much better now. He lives clear across the country so we were able to compare notes on how things are going there and here.

It was also good to share some memories and laughs about growing up.  And to talk a bit about our lives now that we are older and share about our kids and grandkids.  He even has a Facebook page for his dogs.  He also made fun of my OLD AOL email address.  What can I say?  Yes, I still use AOL…haha.  Am I dating myself?

Anyway, I encourage you to also reach out and find and reconnect with folks you have lost touch with over the years.  It will do both of you good.  And you can find out how things are going in other parts of the world.  You got some extra time these days.  Don’t just waste it all playing games and sleeping.  Reach Out and touch someone today.  Do it via email, phone, or gulp even by writing an old fashioned letter.  The Post Office is still working you know.  We can be “Socially Distant” and still keep in touch.
